    Slip-On Exhaust, Worth It?

So would putting on a slip-on exhaust on my bike be worth it or is it just like putting a muffler on a civic, it looks nice, sounds like shit, and does nothing for preformance?

with slip-ons, you will not get any performance gains, but you will get a nicer sound. I personally hate the sound of any stock pipes.

i put mine on for the sound. I hate the sound of many stock pipes and I wanted a low-end growl so I went with a slip on.
    Some look nice too.

When I did my slipon. It did help the power curve in my seat of the pants dyno test. Might be down a few somewhere, but it feels more smooth. No big dips.

The slip on will give you some gains. It will also drop a huge amount of weight off the bike as well.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Some slip-ons sound worse than stock.

I put the Cobra F1-s on my '89 600R and it doesn't sound as smooth as the stock one does ~3,500-5,500.

It's also, just, too loud. I'm going to try and repack it and see if it makes a difference.

Slipons for the RC make a world of difference with PC3R, nevermind losing about 30# and the sound...

I saw very small HP gains with just the slip on, then I did a PCII, and gained 9RWH...It was well worth the money to unleash the V-Twin sound!!

On my CBR F4 a Two Brothers slip-on smothed out a huge power dip at around 6-7k RPMs.

    Plus it sounds great

Ok, adding on to this question, would it behove (sp?) me to buy a PCIIIUSB first or a slip on?

I put mine on cuz they cost so freakin much.

Jus kiddin....................I think the addition of an after market silencer on a V-twin is the best. I did it on my CBR600F4i and it did sound nicer but more like an angry ricer.

Holy crap!!! (emphasis on crap) I wasted my money with my sv650. I put on a full yoshimura full titanium RS-3 and a pcIII. and I only get 70hp oh yeah that is after I wasted my money getting a custom map made for my bike
    so you got a 100% increase with a slip-on
