Well home heating oil/ kerosene and diesel are all about the same. Whats the cleanest?

if you buy in in a gallon container at a hardware store yes, but from a bulk pump, it's usually dyed
K-1 Kerosene is cleanest
plain Kerosene is next
then Diesel
and #2 Home fuel is dirtiest
Kero, off road Diesel & Home fuel are usually dyed
the dye signifies that no road use tax has been paid incase you get the bright idea of running it in a diesel car or truck on the road, a little dye contaminates the tank and is hard to clean, don't get caught with dye in your tank of a vehicle used on the street

I use the red stuff in my Salamander. I'll go to the hardware store and get the clear stuff from now on. Thanks!

the K-1 I get is red, cause I get it from a bulk pump just don't use a container that will ever be used to fill a road vehicle
