This big dude comes in my store the other day and when he comes to the register to pay, he asks me to wrap his purchase up tight because he's on a bike. So now my interest is peaked of course so I ask what kind. Of couse, it had to be a Ninja - 2 weeks after selling mine - but it's a 1000. So I told him I just sold my 250 and I kinda miss it and he says, "want to ride mine?" DOH!!!

1. Would you suggest anyone ride a 1000 after just recently learning on a 250?!!!!

2. Would you just let any old stranger ride your bike (and it was a nice shiny new one too!)?!!!

I politely declined...If it was anyone here, I'm sorry, but I thought the guy was nuts!!!

I frequently have other bikers come into my work with helmets in tow, so I can usually strike up a conversation witht hem based on that. Most recently, a day-glo green helmet came in and we were chatting about bikes and I said, "Lemme guess....a Ninja?" He laughed. Of course it was....what other company paints with flourescent paint? Gotta love ninjas (although I don't really miss mine....)

HA! My 26-year-old sister got her permit right before I sold the 250 and all I let her do was roll on my bike. As soon as she started getting cocky, I took it away! I wasn't worried that she'd damage it, but something in me didn't want to encourage her to ride cuz I was worried she'd get hurt - what a friggin' hypocrite I am!!! I did the same thing when she went on a tandem skydive with us one day - I had over 200 jumps under my belt and would tell everyone how great skydiving is, and then I nearly shit bricks when she made a jump - I wasn't happy until she was back on the ground! I guess inside I feel like if something were to happen everyone would blame me, and I'd blame myself, for getting the ideas into her head!
