This situation reeks of someone paying someone off in the FIM
I haven't been following any SX news after the season was over last winter...I just now read that Ryan Villopoto is not racing the SX series this season, he's racing in Europe for 2015.
Someone doesn't want JS7 there. I'd make my day if the AMA pulled the FIM sanction and told them to pound sand

I'm with you R7. I'm only a fan, I don't race and don't plan to. Why even keep the relationship with FIM? Am I missing some large races out of the country? (besides Canada?). I'm not saying it should be changed on one riders experience, but why is the FIM needed in dirty bike racing?
