YouTube - Looking to get a motorcycle? Watch this first
Guys like this are the reason 16 year olds end up dead on their GSXR1000. "You'll be fine with a supersport, as long as you're responsible!"
IMHO, a newbie "being responsible" has NOTHING to do with being safe on a "bigger" bike. It's the first time you accidentally do something that a bigger bike is going to bite your head off. The first time you roll on the gas a LITTLE too much. The first time you let the clutch out a little too fast, etc.
I realize plenty of people get started on big bikes, but I definitely don't think it's a great idea.
Let the flames begin!
while i do think it's unfortunate that people think respect will let them handle a bigger bike, sportbikes do tend to be chlorine for the gene pool...
staring at your throttle and "respecting it hardcore" isn't going to do shit. if you're staring down the barrel of a gun, respecting the bullet isn't going to exempt it from turning your head into a splattered watermelon...
hurray, strikethrough!

Reply this guy speaks the truth.....my first bik was also a 1000cc.....and 1st gear in wot my fz1 doesn't even wheelie....it will however get the front end very light....ofcourse if i smacked the throttle on/off it can also come up. I have 12,000 miles and have only been riding since nov 07, havent dropped bike or got in accident yet, ofcourse ive had some close calls though but nothing that probably wouldn't happen on any bike

A man with a gun is a citizen
A man without a gun is a subject LETS GO BRANDON
A. That is some of the worst advice I have ever heard.
B.) I have a hard time listening to advice from someone about motorcycle safety when they are giving their little dissertation while riding. Smarten up knucklehead and focus on the road, not telling newbs to go out and buy a liter bike...
C.) that is some of the most BORING riding I have ever seen. I'd be interested to see how well he rides when the road curves...
That is really horrible advice and based on
what people are saying in their responses
they agree!
ugh is right![]()
I like the bigger powered bikes, but I'm 44 yr. old and have been on bikes since I was 16
If all else fails, Lean more....
I want those minutes of my life back.. I thought he was going to get fucked up at the end or something..
I couldn't make it all the way through... it hurt too much. I lasted just long enough to appropriately rate the clip.
You and me both, and I actually sat through the whole thing!I want those minutes of my life back.. I thought he was going to get fucked up at the end or something..I think this guy is full of it. This is my first season riding, and I think getting a large bike would have been a bad idea. First of all not all people are physically built to ride a 1000. My brother let me ride his Suzuki TL1000R before he sold it, and I could barely touch the ground completely. I'm no small girl either, I'm 5'10"! Secondly, if you're inexperienced with how a throttle/clutch works, it can be dangerous to start out on a really touchy set up. Doesn't sound smart to me!
I don't speak Completelyretardedfuckingdouchebagasshat, can someone add subtitles please?
Original
he didn't use his blinker once while changing lanes. passed on the right repeatedly. took his left hand off to open his helmet vents - almost completely blocking his vision - while passing in the blind spot of a pickup. in between these fine demonstrations of "responsible riding" fitting of a literbike rider & promoter, he spewed random bullshit.
i highly recommend this video.
It's awesome to see people who share my opinion on these kind of idiots, I watched to entire movie also, and by the end was dissapointed when this douche hadn't been hit or hit someone himself due to the fact he was too busy talking to pay as much attention to the road as it deserves, or use his directional. However, after seeing their highway system and it's shitfull road conditions, I don't think I'll ever complain about Mass highways again, (till tomorrow).
