I park my bike on the street too...in Boston ....and use this cover. Been using it for a couple months now. Protects it from the rain and stuff....so far good.
Even am looking for a storage for this winter....do you guys think these covers are good enough to face Boston's winter ???
I guess that would work for me....waiting for the link![]()

Is this the one ??? http://www.cycleshell.com/ Has anybody used this thing before ???
no way will a cover protect in the city on the street, have you been here in the winter? if there is a bad storm you can't even park on the street and the plow drivers just go freaking nuts. I would look for some sort of solid structure to put it in.
I have my bike in a barn down the street from where I live. I am going to talk to the landlord and see if i can move some stuff around and park a few bikes there over the winter. it will most likley be free but they might ask for a small donation to get a dumpster to clean out the place. if it all works out i think i could fit 10+ bikes in there!
I'll keep everyone posted incase it works out I only have one bike so there will be room for a bunch.

^^ Yeah....still alive after two winters
That would be great!! Am even up for a nominal fee per month. Cant afford the $70/month though.Originally Posted by scubasteveRR
Wow, did you leave it on the street and just move it every storm or did you have it in a ally or something like that.
the landlords are good people and seeing as though i pay $775 for a 3 bedroom everything included i'm sure if there even is a price to stay there, it will be MAD CHEAP!! (and the barn has power running to it too so you can charge the battery in the spring too!)
I'll keep you posted once i chat with them in a few days.

njstrikar, yes, I've seen that too. I've also seen the one that is more sturdy than that. Looks cool to have.

haha....ya at northeastern...doing my masters, but I live behind northeastern. So i park the bike right infront of my house. what abt you ? incase you are free, up for ride in the evenings ?? I always want to go riding in the evenings, after the traffic decreases but no company....did it alone a couple of times.
And yea, i`ll never park on huntington ave or nearby. Last sunday, I had parked my bike infront of 58 Westland Ave around 8pm. Went in and came back around 1030pm to see my bike's rear view mirrors and turn signals broken. Some drunk punk sat on my bike and broke those, he also threw alchohol on my bikenow am not able to find RVMs for my bike
......so beware of that area.....
Yeah...I live off Hemenway, you are close. For sure I can ride evenings, but its more like nighttime because I'm not out of work and/or class untill after 8 or 9 usually...but for sure we could spin around. I'll PM you my info. I usually keep the cover on my bike so its less tempting for drunks to mess with...

My bike sleeps in my garage all the time, and then hides in the basement over winter...safe and sound and not far from sight :-)
