A guy is coming to check out the SV tonight (which is for sale). His only request was that I make sure the bike was NOT warmed up. Any thoughts on what he has in mind?
(i'd ask him, but idle speculation is more fun)
He just wants to see whether or not it starts hard when it is cold and if you get a puff of smoke when you start it.![]()
I don't think its been started since I got the 636... so thats a coupla weeks. Good thing everything is tip top.
He must be a dirt bike rider.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I do the same and make it a point to make sure a bike I'm selling is cold as well.
I do the same thing. Cars, bikes, vibators, everything.

I'm at work so I won't have time to mess with it before he checks it out. No biggy. I remember it starting up like a dream after sitting all winter, so this should be a piece of cake. Its only an '03 with 9400 miles on it, its not like I've got an old shovelhead or something I'm trying to unload.
I remember reading a buyers guide somewhere (I think off of BostonBiker.com) where they said something about if a bike is already warmed up it might cover up cold starting issues. Don't quote me on that it's been a while since I've read it.
Most used bike buying guides say that you should request that the bike not be warmed up, for the reasons everyone's stated - you just want to see if there's any cold starting issues.
Good luck w/ the sale Rummy. I'd pick up the bike myself if I had the money.
(PS: You're over on NASIOC too, right...?)
Yup, I'm on NASIOC too. I have a WRB bugeye WRX pushing 110k miles. Grr... so soon every vehicle I own will be blue, when everyone knows RED is the fastest color.
