I am hoping you guys can help me. In mass how would you make a yz450 street legal? other than the parts how would I get it reg.
If you figure it out let me know,I've got a YZ400 I want to plate also.
I think the best way is to get it reg. and titled in NH then transfer the title to MA. The only thing is you have to have a friend or family memeber that lives in NH to help you out. This is the way I think I am going to go because at my shop we have had people make them street legal in NH, and I think it would be alot simpler.
I know Maine will title them and you do not have to be a resident. A couple years ago I looked into it and went to the town hall (that's where you register your vehicles/atv's up there) to see what was needed. If I remember rite you needed sales slips from the DOT parts you added to the bike, the factory MSO, bill of sale and proof of insurance to get your registration. The only catch was it had to pass a basic state inspection...which shouldn't be a problem if you have the proper lighting, a mirror and a horn![]()

If you're really interested, Vermont will title and register anything with a 17 digit VIN. To get past inspection, you would need a full baja kit, but if you were riding out of state, you wouldn't really need an inspection.
I have a friend that registered a ZB50, a version of the XR50, for street use.![]()
