Finally started doing stuff to my bike, and Im sold on changing the gearing, but Im concerned that I will either gear it too low, or not enough.
Does anyone have, or have had a Tl1000S that they have changed the gearing on for acceleration and have suggestions on tooth count.
I was looking at a kit that changed both Fr and Rr sprockets and the site gives alot of info, but never anything about tooth count. They just say stage1 and stage2. I also checked another site and found pkg deals, I was thinking that 4 up in the back should be sufficient, but IDK, maybe 1 down in the front and 3 or 4 up in the back...sound like over kill???
Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
Its not the speed that kills, its the sudden stops!
did it stand up in second without the clutch just rolling into it?

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Ummmm its a TL not a F4i or 636 Cheater bike.....you need this to be a SUPPA STUNNA...

IIRC, the 'S' is 17/38. Do NOT go -1 in the front! The chain will wear out the rubber guide then start digging into your swingarm. I am +4 on my faster, yellow 'R' version and like it alot. Shoot over to tlplanet.com or tlzone.net and you'll get all the info you need....lots of gearing questions over there....
Im not trying to be a stunna or I would just go get a 70 tooth rear and fab up a cage and 12 bar. I just want this thing to keep up with my buddies 929 that is stupid fast even on otp gear roll ons, and I borrowed it for a day and a half when my bike was getting painted and that thing stands up but it takes off... this is purely for acceleration... and Id kinda like it to scare me again. haha

thanx everyone for the opinions. One more question? I know that changing the front sprocket will throw off my speedometer, but how much will it change (if any) by changing the rear a couple teeth?
