I just received this e-mail from Bruce last night. Great news, however he is still looking for a few things as mentioned in his e-mail below.
Gives you the feeling that good Karma was on his side and a whole lot of people looking out for him and his stuff.
Cheers, Steve
"Great news from Canada - my two racebikes stolen back in August from the "secure" garage at my hotel in Mont Tremblant have been found. Thanks to everyone who posted and communicated with the motorcycle community to help slam the door shut on any possible black market sale of the bikes.
We did have to pay a "ransom" and we did not get back all my gear and the spare parts and miscellaneous other things stolen. But my bikes are back safe at my friend's place in Mont Tremblant and in good condition. And for that we are very happy. Many many thanks to my Canadian friends and Ed Milich, who created a website with pictures and VIN information to keep the news out there.
Keep a lookout for a couple of sets of 996RS cams and pistons appearing on the market. Also missing all my RS gearing and special tools. Plus my RevIt leathers (size 58, red/white), Arai XXL Corsair (White) helmet, Daytona boots (45, Red/White), Held gloves (12).
Best regards,
Bruce Meyers"

Great news indeed....but, paid a 'ransom'? I vote we declare war on Quebec and invade tomorrow...!

Bruce is a good guy, i am happy for him.
Glad he got them back!
But, he had to pay a ransom? Makes me think of some crazy back alley exchange or something
At least, in the end he has the bikes.
Holy crap, that's awesome.
Also pissed the people responsible weren't held... well... responsible![]()

was just reading about this on the Ducati forum, great news (minus the ransom), at least he got the big stuff back![]()
great news.
A guy on the TL board had his gixxer 1k stolen a while back.
Went on a mad search, and ended up paying some cash to get it back. Crazy
slimy fucks, thieves are the lowest pieces of shit
The stolen vehicle rate in Canada is insane. I have a friend who's brand new Pickup was stolen out of the airport parking garage in Montreal. The police told him it was probably gone before he even got to the terminal.
Great news Bruce. Glad to hear you got your bikes back....but paying a ransom blows.
Too bad you didn't set up the exchange and upon arrival go all Chuck Norris on the bastards.
THAT would've been an even better outcome!

We could still find em... I am sure some of the guidos on here have "people"
Or we could contact an outlaw biker club in Montreal. I hear they are not to keen on people stealing bikes.

Settle down guys. Bruce is not that way. As much as I would agree with you Bruce seems much more level headed than that. He is just very grateful to have his personal toys back. Whomever did this will certainly get their justice in the end.

Hey... I'm not a very violent person either, but having to pay to get back bikes I've already paid for from the people who stole them from me might make me a bit homicidal.
Glad he got them back though. If I were him, I'd be calling every media outlet I could think of. This is obviously a widespread problem and the only thing that will spur action on the police's part is awareness.
