I've found that I have turning issues on tar snakes at lower speeds than when at higher speeds. Basically, anything under 30 mph promotes a problem for me for some reason.
I have to agree with the comment of the Metzeler M-1's being the most forgiving on tar snakes...having just gone through a pair I can attest they are a great tire for many different road conditions...don't expect any miles from them though, especially the rear...
I know when you hit the snake you only lose your tire for a quick moment, but I'm not worried about lowsiding because of them. What happened to me is that I hit it with my front tire in a turn. When my front tire stuck again the bike stood up and pushed me to the outside of the turn. If I had slipped and wobbled into on coming traffic or had run off the road, there lies my problem.
You guys wanna see some tar-snake-crazyness go to Nault's in Manch...it's like the they did up the entire parking lot in that shit.....and at a motorcycle shop of all places!![]()
