Maybe I should just take a belt sander to the pads, hear it's good for scrubbin in tires too![]()
So back to the pads.... S3 pads a good all around set for street & occational track day? what do they cost per caliper? think i'm gonna have to ditch my pads after VIR, maybe even AT VIR, i dunno.... got between a 1/4 & an 1/8th of pad left so i'm guessin i'll be fine, but i guess i'll have to swap em out soon too

Thats what I run on my bike and I love them except in the rain. Going for the brakes after getting off the highway in a rain storm I thought I was going to mess myself. I grab the lever and get nothing for about 1 second and then it hits harder than I want it to initially and makes me think I am going to lock up the front.Originally posted by Paul_E_D
Ever try HH++ pads? They have phenomenal initial BITE!
In a track environment I don't think it would be a problem as they keep so much heat in them but for street use in the rain they scare me![]()
no way will you use up a set of pads in 2 track days.
Some racers use only 2 sets for a whole season!

Here's my "trick" in the rain races...Originally posted by Mad Max

Just before I let go of the gas from the straight... I would lightly drag the front brake. That would get rid of the water and create a good contact.
When I did start actually braking... they were already "uniform" in how they would respond.
Obviously, on the street you don't always have the pleasure of knowing when you need to stop.![]()
