Same thing happened to me, I live at a fire station while going to school and the Chief said I could store the bike in the bays during my two year stay here. I went out one day and found a nice little gouge into the side of my tank, pissed me off. I brought it up to my Chief and he really couldn't do much about it. I asked around if anyone knew how it had happened.... no one knew, big surprise there. So I just chalked it up as a lesson learned, maybe at some point I will get the tank repainted but as of right now, gonna have to live with it.
Good luck!

If it's going to continue to stay there, I would get a decent cover (like a dowco one) and keep the bike covered to protect you from falling objects.
It seems every time I uncover my bike in my driveway, I find a new mark on it from someone's car door hitting my bike.
I get upset, but bikes weren't meant to stay pretty forever.
Like you said, I'd me more upset with the coworker not telling you sooner.
SUE THE BASTARD!!!- just kidding. Move on.
On a similar note, I was sitting in my nice shiny truck today in a parking lot and an old dude (yes, older than me) pulls up next to me in a huge, old, shitbox. Well, I'm always nervous about this, but he doesn't get out so I figure he's waiting for someone like I am....so I don't move. Just as I close my eyes to rest, my truck rocks like a huge gush of wind got it----guess what? yes- he opened his door hard enough to rock my truck-----and I'm IN IT!! WTF. He just walks away like it never happended.....
Put a sticker over it , call it a day and drink.
that's nothing of a scratch. I understand you getting pissy about it, but let it go & again; like you say, more to come. btw: that's that same color as mine
It's tough to tell by your picture but to me, it almost looks like a mild buffing compound would at least make it less noticeable. I use a 3M product called Perfect It II on mild scratches and it really works good. That might be a cheap alternative for now.

I just apply it with a pad like you'd use to apply wax then buff it off with a clean towel.
similar thing happened to me one time, walking up to my (at the time Brand New) car and this guys door is on my paint as he trying to get his kid out and the door of his BMW SUV and the door is just rocking against my car and repeatedly scratching the paint. i walk up to him and I'm like, WTF are you doing? he stops for a second and looks at the mark on the car and is like, oh sorry. I told him I was going to need his insurance information to call the insurance company and the guy just walked away and said deal with it, it's only a Civic.
well i dealt with it alright... after he walked into store i ran my key around his Beemer a couple times. deal with that fucktard.
People are so friging rediculous![]()
