Is that legit. Should I really shower with a new suit to let it form around me?
How long should I leave it on?
Seems to be working for this guy.... I'd give it a go.

Just wear it riding today. It's plenty humid and hot enough to break it in quickly.

I've done it and had good results. I chose a dry hot day
and rode for 10 hours.
I wore my new lionheart in the shower and got it hosed real good then went out on the ninja and rode on a nice day after work until the suit had dried out, worked great. no matter what you want to wear it until it dries.

My Vanson was always tight and stiff, and notorious for a long break in. After a track day in the rain, it became like a old baseball glove!

Snip: "You get it wet and the put it on and you may rediscover an old American Indian trick used to really hurt people.
Softening would require oil and mechanical stretching, what tanners would call staking or milling. Probably won't work enough to help, but what the heck. Do it at your own risk, and there is some real risk of damaging the suit here."
More from the same thread: "Apply ethanol aqueous solution about 80 proof on the flesh side of the leather, all the while hoping the finish will take it! (no toxic, uneven number of carbon chain alcohools what ever you do!). When allmost dry, put on the suit and take a deep breath to stretch it and soon you will be so drunk you wont care anymore about the suit. Joking aside, the alcohool will act as "steaming" does when shoe uppers are lasted, if you dry the suit in the streched position, leather will conform to the new shape. Namely salt/hydrogen bonds are reset by such a process."

The first TD I ever did it poured all day. The suit fit great after that. Reconditioned one year later via mud bath and subsequent garden hosing. No complaints at all!
you won't even notice it when concentrating on racing. throw it on the ground then put it on and go race.

Hire someone who's in better shape to break it in
