So I'm selling a motorcycle right now and an interested buyer needs a carfax-type report. I've sold dozens of bikes but this is the first time I've ever been asked for a VIN report and I can't imagine anything would even show up. I didn't think motorcycles even had this. Should I pay for this or just have this buyer move on?
+1 maybe ask him what he's looking for? Stolen, crash damage? High mileage rollback?
Ask him for a deposit on the condition that there are no serious* issues on the, err, Carfax. If he agrees, pay for it yourself.
* Of course, you might want to get in writing what a "serious" issue is.

Provide him the VIN number as stated previously. Don't use any of your money to do this.

They are what they are, but if someone drops a bike in the driveway or something they don't tend to go through insurance for it... thus it won't show up.
