Tacky to ride to the BRC?

I have my BRC next week, and I'm curious if it is tacky to ride to it. I'll be coming right form work, and I ride to work everyday.

May seem like a stupid question, but I don't want to feel like an idiot there.

I say, go for it. Just don't act like you are too cool for school because you already have a motorcyle. That's a good way to get your ass kicked.

Lots of students think they can't ride to the BRC. Us instructors love to see people showing up on bikes. Bring the bike!!!

Re: Tacky to ride to the BRC?

Do yourself a favor. Work hard and perfect the first few riding exercises. You will have to stay at the level of the group, but on day 2 they have the flexibilty to coach you at a higher level than the beginners, if you are doing well.

Basically, don't just waste your time and theirs. Any coach worth their salt will love an eager to learn student with skills. As you see in these posts, you might very well be getting coached by a road racer!

Have a blast and definately ride in! Don't be a squid. Wear your gear!!

So I rode last night. Not a big deal.

But I feel like I am in a class of walking dead. I am the only one with prior riding experience. The guy next to me just bought a "1000cc GSXR". The chick next to him is buying a Harley 1200. The guy on the other side of the room said he is getting a ZX12R.

First classroom: this is a clutch, this is a brake lever, etc.
I'm looking forward to the emergency braking practice. I've locked the rear everytime I've had to do it, so I'd like some practice.

I liked the quick stopping exercises, the swerving and the cornering. I got the most out of those three things. I've had a few emergency brake situations since then and only locked up the rear once (and was able to recover before it slid out too far).
