Talk to me about Shell Rotella T 15w40 in my rc51

I have heard of people doing this, but im not sure.

Reasoning: I use it in my car so I have a ton of it around, and one kind of oil for both my vehicles would be nice.

I just recently did a bunch of research about the stuff. From what I gathered, it's fine to run....But for me, mentally, if the bottle doesn't say motorcycle, I don't run it....

You really shouldn't have many questions about oil after that....

That said, I ran Rotella in my old SV650 for years...loved the stuff.

Same here..use it in my FZ6 without complaints (except that it smells differently than Mobil 1)

I switched to rotella T for a couple changes in the monster, it ran hotter (avg) and my mileage was affected (repeatedly 5-10mi less per tank).

I switched back to Mobil 1 and all went back to the norm.

I've always used regular old Mobil 1.

I was under the impression that it was safe to run the Rotella-T full synthetic5-40 for diesels . that stuff costs $19.50 per gallon ( 4quart ) at walmart . the new container says Rotella 5-40 +6 full synthetic. they added the +6 , that is the only weight that the full synthetic comes in ..
the other stuff that comes in the 2.5 gallon is not full synthetic , and as far as i can find out , it is not recomended with a wet clutch ..
and if anyone can prove me wrong ,
and show me where it says that the 15-40 dino is as good as the 5-40 syn ..please correct me... it will save me even more money..
I have been running th 5-40 full syn for the last 3 seasons , and i love it. it is a little thick when its cold. but it seems to be very smooth shifting , and no false nuetrals. i aslo run it in my 6.5turbo diesel , and it makes alot less noise in the single digit cold weather start up.. i love the stuff..

that guy says that higher MC oil pressures and shear will breakdown conventional auto oils in less than 2000 miles. Synthetics/ diesel especially diesel sythetics last almost indefinitely

Diesels and MC wet clutches both need high shear strength oils, the addative they use is a zinc compound
