What do you guys do for mods on the tards? As far as protection and stuff? I added axle sliders, is there anything else to add? Peg sliders or anything.
And what about dampers. My fucker bounces around on the highway, and of course coming over 4 and the end of the straight. It moves around, but never so much to make me nervous, and just let it ride out, but are dampers necessary?
Anything else i should do aside from the LEDs and chrome wheels and green plastics when they come out

First I start with a helmet, and if they keep giving me problems, I put them in a straight jacket.... If they still keep it going I just strap them down to the gurney!

A damper is probably good if its bouncing a lot on the highway. Though I would add, wtf are you doing riding your tard on a highway?!?!? what a waste! lol Personally, I'd like one on my tard (tricky mike just put one on his and likes it), but I dont call it a necessary item as yet. Interesting enough, I really dont get any head shake on the straight, full throttle top gear.
As for protection, It looked like everything came stock on that thing. Mostly need to worry about levers, and axle sliders are nice too. After that, its a dirt bike, not much to break. The again yours is prettier than mine.

Handguards? They save levers, throttle tubes, etc. (don't remember if your bike already had them...)
Damper isn't essential, but very nice. I had started shaking quite a bit over the hill last season. The faster I went, the more it shook. Started to get a bit unnerving. Over the winter I got a set of triples with 8mm offset which made the bike handle MUCH better but amplified the twitch a bit. Not sure what the numbers are for your bike, but it's probably a bit mellower... I wouldn't call the damper essential by any means... at least not at my pace.
Just follow Manny's lead...and you'll be all set.

It has handguards, so its got that going for it, which is nice.
I still need to get the suspension set up, so maybe thatll help the twitch, but that fucker was bouncing up and over the hill, and I have a lot more speed to get there, I mean, assuming I bump up to the yellow group. I wasnt getting a lot of exit speed out of 3 in the red group.
Riding a motard fast on a road course takes a little adjusting. You HAVE to be light on the bars because any little tug at them will get the oscillation going. There's just so much leverage at the grips.
I have ridden some that wag all the way down the straight. It's all about trail, so a damper won't solve it. A smaler offset triple clamp is the ticket.
I am curious to ride the SMC at the track, but until then I can only speculate on how it might handle...
I've been on the highway with my 525 a few times and most of the wagging seems to be from the wind buffeting from other vehicles. I've noticed when there are no other vehicles ahead, the bike hardly wags at all until you get into the 90mph range. Like Paul said, keep an easy grip and it'll never be a problem. With other cars around, it starts at about 60-65mph.
When I was racing, my YZ used to wag a little down the front straight but it never felt unsafe.
