Ya so... my VFR is at Sky Cycle for two "Product Updates" that it needed... I made the appointment weeks in advance figuring they would have the parts the updates require ordered and on hand when I dropped the bike off...
So I drop it off on Friday... and just called them... they say they ordered the parts and they will be in by the end of the week...![]()
this is annoying to me... they knew they would need the parts when I made the appointment... so why not have them on hand when I dropped the bike off???
Anyone work in a dealership know if this is standard practice? Just seems like better customer service to not make me be without my bike for a week and a half...
maybe I'm weird like that....![]()
Anyway... that's it... not that it matters today... but I believe other days this week are supossed to be better... oh well...
Carry on....
beware speaking badly of dealerships... superdave'll get mad at you.

I had those 2 product updates done on my VFR last year, they got the parts ahead of time, and they did the bike while I waited. Took like 2 hours tops.
I had taken the update notices from Honda and called them ahead of time and they got the parts first. This was the horribly evil GBM that did this for me.

Figures Ben... when I called I had the notices with me... and read them the numbers etc... guy told me he was aware of both and all set... I just assumed that meant they would have the parts...Originally posted by benSV

Hmmm... and no... no dealer bashing... because honestly they have been great to deal with thus far... perhaps it's just their policy in case I banked out of the appointment or something![]()
Ben did you have to have the rail replaced or just the reinforcement kit installed?
I just talked to them again and they say it was because of that they didn't order ahead of time... since they had to verify which the bike needed... I dunno... still think a week + is excesive...
