Wanted to get a throttle body sync on my 2007 FZ6. Didn't want to take it to the stealership wait a couple of weeks and drop $$ for nothing.
I have some other small updates to make to the bike
1)Install a G2 Throttle tamer
2)Change spark plugs (gap'd per spec)
Any one here set up to perform these for a fees? I am in Westborough, MA
That is all small stuff we could take care of it for you within a day or two

You dont gap spark plugs any more grandpa. :-)
I don't know what a G2 throttle tamer are, but...
1.) the carbs you can sync yourself with a service manual, youtube, and borrow the sync tool from anyone else that bought it for $120, used it once, and don't use it.
it's a little more work, so if you outsource it - TLRman
2.) spark plugs - also you can do yourself with a service manual. I don't know about your bike specifically, but it pretty much just requires you to take off the tank/covers, get a deep socket (or a spark plug wrench with an extension), and unscrew the old one install the new one. Sometimes it helps to get a pivoting extension so you can take it out from an angle, but that's it
and do you really need plugs? I've got 30,000 miles on a used bike and never changed the plugs as long as it's burning right

Ah. I see. No need to hap plugs any more except for maybe your lawn mower. In fact, if you try to measure the gap on an iridium plug, youll probably damage it.Originally Posted by Karate.Snoopy

No, his doesnt. Just saying youll damage them if you try, bit plugs are pre-gapped always now.
I was thinking of syncing my fz6 as well, some say it helps with vibrations and not just making the bike run better. I was also going to make my own sync tool since it is not that hard and much cheaper than buying an expensive tools, unless someone has one for rent
I have the sync tool, but no longer own a bike that requires one. Willing to part with it for $50 if you want it. Bought it new, used it a few times, definitely smooths out the throttle response and quells the vibrations the FZ6 gets at 4-5k rpm.

Precious metal-tipped spark plugs like Platinum and Iridium-tipped ones should come pre-gapped. Attempting to alter the gap may damage/destroy the precious metal tip. Regular plain copper core plugs should be gapped for optimum performance, although I've seen cars run with gaps double the spec. High compression/high rpm engines could be more sensitive to large/wrong gap.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
We use a vuccum mate electronic sync with rpm pick up that is far more accurate then the other methods
