Used tire disposal

I have three used tires to get rid of. I live in Boston. How do I do this?

A fire....they make really cool looking clouds of black smoke!

Or, cut them in 3rds and put them in a trash bag with normal trash. I thought my rown took them with regular trash pick up..and I know they used to. I was over my neighbors one day this spring and recognized a knobby tire hanging from a rope on a tree branch. I tossed a set of dirtbike tires to the trash a month prior, my neighbor and his 3 year old son walked by, grabbed them and made a tire swing out of them..haha

Find a small auto repair shop that sells tires, show up with a 6 pack and ask if they can get rid of your tires.

Throwing them in the trash is just plain irresponsible...but you already knew that 8^)

It may be irresponsible but they don't exactly make it easy to dispose of tires.

My town accepts them once a month. I paid $5 per tire last time and $7 the time before that.

Our town disposes of them for free at bulky waste day.

If you bring them to NHMS, you can leave them outside a garage and the track will dispose of them.

Also, as someone else said, most auto repair shops that sell tires will dispose of them for a small fee.

How are they going to distinguish that they aren't take offs?

I've never known either NHMS or NJMP to care. That could, of course change. I wouldn't suggest bringing 30 tires from home to dump, but a couple? I can't see it being a problem.

Depending on your state, they may end up in the landfill anyways. Our town used to except 2 tires per month on normal trash pick up, they'd toss them in with the other trash when picked up.

what are you talking about? They aren't just gonna come by and take them during the middle of an event. once everyone is gone they'll pick up any trash (tires included) that's left there.
