Got a set of Metzler M3 so far so good
Delivered by Fed Ex Ground 2 days service... cool.
The packaging was interesting there were labels from:
Drag Specialties
Parts Unlimited
Amazon (?)
and some un named place in Scotia NY
and lastly MAW where I actually ordered them from
Only comment on tires is they seem rounder then others and the rear does not go vertical on the tread (wrap up the side walls). It may be wishfull thinking but tread does seem a little thicker (life)

MAW probably got them from Parts Unlimited or Drag Specialities (owned by Parts Unlimited) and I know Parts used to have a warehouse in upstate NY, not sure of the town.
I have not been around the accessories biz for a few years but it would not surprise me if Parts Unlimited and/or MAW us an Amazon system for order fulfillment.
Have fun with the new rubbers.
Any Pirelli / Metzeler road tire in North America comes from Parts Unlimited.
The NY warehouse for PU is in Albany.

They call it the Albany warehouse but I have driven by it and it's not actually in the city of albany.
Mapquest says scotia is in the greater Albany area. Maybe Scotia is the local UPS hub? Why am I discussing this again?
The you can get sportbike tires from Amazon was interesting

thought that since this was already on the tire question, I would post this here.
I need to get a new set of tires and am looking for people who have run these, to get an accurate opinion.
I am thinking of running either Pirrelli Diablo Strada's, or Conti Road Attacks.
Size is 120/70 17, and 190/50 17, they are for a zx10r, and looking for wear and mileage.
I dont really want to run Pilot Powers, as they dont seem to take mileage well. I do a lot of commuting on the bike with riding twisties on the weekends a few times a month. The last tires on the bike were Dunlop SportMax, and have 8500 miles on them.

I would have waited for the new
Michelin Pilot Road 2 dual compound but am going on a 1000
big dog ride next week so could wait
Karaya could keep you up on availability
You must have a light wrist cause I get under 2500 on my rear

From what I have read the sportmax was a harder tire than the PP's. I dont push the bike to its limits....at least not a lot. I try to be smooth all the time, with the occasional run ups to triple digits. That is why I am looking at the sport touring tires, to see if I can get the grip I need, with the mileage. Not looking to do track days. I read somewhere that the Dunlop Sportmax was not as good as the Conti Road Attack.
I have only been using the bike for commuting this summer due to my friends (plural) bikes being stolen at Myrtle Beach in May, and they cannot replace them. So need to find other riders in the nashua area to ride with.

thanks, Black....but I need a 190 rear, not sure if I can go to a 180 with a 5.5 rim. But if anyone knows if this would be a good tire for the 1k then would appreciate it.
