I was wondering if anyone has some good tire recommendations for the 2000 R6? This is my next project after switching it over to GP shift. Currently running Pirelli Diablos but this weekend they left quite a bit to be desired on a ride that I was on... I was being passed by 4 wheel drive jeeps, dirt bikes, and quads but think that if I invested in some decent on-road/off-road tires I would have a competitive advantage. I am looking for a good dirt tire that comes in 180/55/17. Any suggestions on what has worked well for others?

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
becasue you are looking for a dirt tire for your Yamaha R6 street bike?? just ass-u-ming your are joking around since i don't think they will corner half as good as a street tire?? just figured it was a joke....
Although the GP shifter is pretty cool and a mod that you can actually use, so i figured you where serious about this...

Also for 2 times the amount of a set of tires you could most likely buy a dirt bike.
You need a set of supermoto slicks. You can probably fit a 165 on the rear. Might want to get some MX boots and start riding foot out style too. I might have a set of takeoffs, just let me know.
PS, the power curve on that bike is perfect for roosting out of the dirt corners.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I think she went on a ride and the person in the lead may have took a dirt road unknowingly and she is now making fun of them. Just a guess.

You don't happen to have any plastics that I can zip tie on so it blends in a little better? I was worried yesterday that one of the dirtbike riders was gonna crash from rubbernecking... I don't know why they kept staring at the bikes when they rode by. Maybe because the bike is red?![]()
How 'bout this tire?

And don't believe everything you think.
I used to off-road my 87 ZX750R pretty regularly. It did decent. My 02 R6 w/ the slicks, not so much. I should have tried MX tires...
I have some CRF450 plastics we can mount up. Blend that thing right in.

Don't encourage her either
she's spoofing us or that she is serious
regardless
back in the day their used to be a scrambler version of every little road bike
usually meant high pipes and maybe fork gaters.
If your serious then it just plumb is the wrong bike
Did you notice any sport cars on the trail...why not?
Why isn't NASCAR based on jeeps?
It is a bridge to far. many true littl dual purpose rides out there
