they have the best animated website
the tires must be good
and they are somewhat more expensive they must be better
and they are round and black like real race tires

That Metzler thread is 3 years old... i'm sure they've come a long way. I really liked my M1's. A little greasy when you've been on the track all day but good overall. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend em depending on usage.
Metzler also joined forces w/ Pirelli a few years ago.

Rich,
I thought you wanted long life?
Well not sure how much has changed from the M1 to the M3 but
the M1s that I had a few year ago while very sticky did not last
very long at all, 2500 miles at most. That was on a old F3 Honda.
Maybe you should get these?

I would have gone for the Pilot Road 2 for the long life idea but I no longer wait for new products to arrive having been disapointed many times.
I am going for a big dog ride in Vt in 2 weeks that should put on more then 1000 and my front is totally shagged cupped below the wear bars so.
I feel like an ass to repeat advetising copy but the Metzler BS is to expect 50% more life then M1,s... so that's how I get here from there.
Additionally there is a vibration on the far side of 115 so that makes me a little nervous to keep these qualifiers.

Point being, they didn't support their obviously flawed product. M1s were always comparatively marginal tires when it came to traction. They were comfortable tires to go fast on, because they gave up predictably. To me, there's still no compelling reason to choose Metz over Michelin.

C'mon are you feeling no love for the yellow tomahawks?
