Ok, so I bought the '99 TL1000s from mrwog who changed a few things after he bought it from biscuit. I know Paul put on the Ohlins shock and changed the bars among other things, not sure about the Gilles rear sets. Here's pic of when I took the reigns:
Now I'm not much of a streetfighter fan but was just going to use it for a track bike so no big deal......WRONG!! This thing had the fastest(and most unmanageable by me) turn in I've ever ridden. I figured I'd just put the clip-on's back on and be good to go...... WRONG!! Biscuit had made a new cluster mount that pulled the instruments MUCH closer to the top triple so the clutch cable was not going to work.
Okey-dokey, now I'm on a quest for all of the stock bits to make it track-able. Go ahead, try to find all of the stock parts in decent shape... After a while I give up on the fairings and decide to go the Shark Skinz route..... the exhaust being hand made by biscuit does not follow the regular aftermarket pipes lines.... start hacking up my freshly painted fairings....
As of now I believe I've done the following since acquiring:
- forks replaced with hayabusa forks, internals all pulled, ultra-sonically cleaned and reassembled with 1.1 Traxxion springs
- added nifty machined pre-load adjusters
- CHRISPY mirrors with delrin bar ends
- Buell turn signals
- Galfer wave rotors
- '07 GSXR1000 radial calipers with adapters I made
- '07 GSXR1000 radial m/c
- Speigler lines in black with red ends
- front axle sliders
- extended frame sliders to go thru fairings
- added stomp grips
- vandriver rear m/c
- new chain & sprockets(SuperSprox tri-metal rear) +3 in rear
- hugger(cheesy plastic one for now just to keep crap off the Ohlins)
- Scotts damper
- lots of black powder-coating
- new pair of Pilot Powers 190/120
- Superbike grips
- Zero Gravity tinted screen
- removed rear fender and installed undertail
- Clear Alternatives integrated rear turn signals/tail light/rear brake light
- added led license plate light
- mirror block off plates from ebay
Things left to do:
- install PCIIIUSB(in the garage) and get custom map done
- install rectifier with +mod done(sitting on PCIII right now)
- get suspension dialed in
- cut more fairing of for exhaust clearance(little place on right side)
- get state inspection and insurance
- install Lindemann 800 lb. spring on SOAS(during winter)
- mod and install TLR swing arm(maybe during winter)
- RIDE!!!

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
..and I thought the naked TL was hot.
great job!
the bike looks fantastic
so will this be a track bike now?
was this a restoration project for enjoyment?
I'd really love to do something like this someday
Sick TLS, really like it.
I've got a couple spare TLR swingers that are straight & clean. Hit me up if you end up needing one. Listed them a while back on TLZ for cheap, but shipping tends to kill it for most folks. One of them already has a channel welded for Vans brake hanger (I think a GSXR hanger may work as well...)

Holy shit Jake! What a transformation. I know there's a lot of slick shit going on there... But the radial calipers with the adapter is absolutely incredible! Nice work.
