I am looking at going to the "tony-track days" this next month or so. Just was wondering what the typical first day is like. How many tires I should bring.. That type of stuf..
Also do they do rides by skill level or does every one go out and have at it..
Pretty much all of the typical "frequently asked questions" are answered on his site. You'll only need one set of tires... a set in good condition should last several track days. Riders are grouped by skill level and comfort level... different groups have different rules about where and when you can pass (or be passed).
Bike prep is minimal, amount of fun is phenomenal. Expect to gain an addiction.
I did it last year for the first time and all I can say is do it! I did a review of my day if you do a search.
Good stuff! Yea I'm know if i start ill be buying a track bike and a camper to go up every week.. Anything motorcycle related is highly addictive.. The heroine of the auto world..

Like Trickphoto said above, Tony's website is CHALK FULL of info! Give 'er a good look over & post up any questions.
But to answer the questions you've already asked...
first day is "Information Overload" day... keep your ears open, absorb as much as you can & you'll be fine
Tires: yeah, if the tires on your bike are in good condition that'll be plenty. An average track day customer probably won't do more than 100 miles, but it'll be the most exciting & informational 100 miles of your riding career![]()

One thing I haven't been able to find out about track days is if we need to tape over the headlight. I see it in pictures, but I don't see any mention in the bike prep section. Anyone?

Straight from da site - HEAD LIGHTS: If your headlight is made of glass, as opposed to plastic, then it must be taped. The tape can be placed in large X's. It does not have to fully cover the lens, but is designed to keep it from shattering. We recommend disabling the headlight to keep heat down. Many bikes have a simple connector that can be unplugged, or you can remove the fuse.
Oreo's got a billion and a 1/2 posts and the link's in his sig. Enjoy!!
Duct tape is like "The Force". It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
