Yes, because the number of people who make track day crash claims VASTLY outnumbers the number of people who make street crash claims...Originally Posted by ThisBitch
Jackie, you don't seriously think track day riders are the reason your rates are "so high" do you?

There was a turtle on the track twice that day, and yes if i hit the turtle I would have made a claim. I went to the track based off of someone that i know whos opinion I respect. I was told I will learn more in one day then a whole year of street riding.Originally Posted by 07BladeRider

Did I go expecting to put a big smile on my face, have some fun, learn a ton about riding my bike, and ride a little faster then on the street? YES
I feel that what DOC said earlier sums it up. I would be a poorer rider for not attending a trackday or two. I honestly can say i feel like after the two trackdays I did this year, I have a big leg up on the street then others that havent been, in ALL aspects. Theres only so much you can practice on the street in terms of surviving on the street.
I tell you what theres nothing like coming into 3 way way way too hott and having to stand it up and brake before you hit a wall. Or coming to the end of the straight and having someone a bit faster merge in front of you going into one. Or being blind behind you and sort of having to get a feel of your surroundings besides what you can see directly in front of you. And oh yea since I know what it feels like to hit the ground, the importance of gear.
I got exactly what I was looking to get out of a trackday even with crashing. Me and my bike are 1 living breathing thing on the street and off. All of the examples of things above can be easily put into street riding...Emergency stops, some asshole merging on top of you, or turning in front of you. For someone to put a classification on going to the track to just "push your limits" is idiotic. I am sure there are plently of people like me that apply knowledge learned from one experiance to all aspects of life.
Damn, this Loudon must have a vagina somewhere that I didnt find.

the new ones? like 1500-2000 more. What the hell does the even mean jackie? You are talking about new vs old here. If I was forced to pay cash for a bike, it no doubt would have been an older version of what I have now.Originally Posted by Jimmy 2 Shots

I was referring to the ignorant parents who take their 18 year old who just got a learner's permit and cosign for them to buy a brand new GSX-R 1000. How many 18 year olds do you know with $1000 in the bank? How about $8000? I don't know many.
