So far... I've not seen a drastic drop on car trade values, using my 02 Forester as a baseline. I think you will take a hit with a bike though.
Trade values are certainly affected...
Especially on something that's not gonna sell for another 4 months...
Richie... Call me at work. Right now! (well, not right now, I'm munching on some fine ass Taco Bell right now)... but call me in a few minutes. Mostly because I'm bored out of mind. Partly because I know something abou this subject... but mostly because I'm really bored. 203-265-1206

I've never traded a bike, but it's got to work similar to car dealerships. The more margin there is in the sale, the better the offer they'll make on your trade. Unless it's a total POS, (which was the case the one time I traded in and got way more than it was worth) you're usually better off selling on your own and making the best deal you can on the purchase.

DB, no matter what the deal is, you loose a lot by trading in IMO. Better off to hold the bike until the spring if you can and pick up another one right now ( if you're looking for one ).

When I was thinking of getting the Aprilia SXV 550 about a month ago, the dealer quoted me trade in value from the book for my 06 R1...which I would have settled for, then called me back a few hours later and said it would be $2,000 less than quoted.
Bring some KY with you, cause you're gonna get fucked trading anything in now that's bike related![]()

Unless what you owe is less than the trade value offered and don't mind taking a hit on it, private sale is the better way to go.
don't you already have a fake dirtbike you ride on a road course and another fake dirtbike you ride on the street?
Keep your zx, buy my wheels for it and have sex with lots of women
...do the right thing
