Looking for any and all feedback on the Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket. Specifically crash protection.... hopefully your assumptions and not your "personal test", although I'll take either.
Scenario: It's 90 degrees and humid and you're going on a "spirited" sportride. You've got two jackets on the rack, Vanson non-perf leather or the JR Phoenix...Which one would you put on?
Thanks.

anecdotal evidence (from people who HAVE crash-tested the phoenix) points toward it being sufficient protection for most crash scenarios. general consensus seems to be limited to a raspberry or less...
however, they do appear to be "one-time use." still cheaper than new skin.

The only "intuitive" interface is the nipple.

Thank you all for the input.
I ended up ordering the JR Reactor jacket instead. Seems to offer a bit more protection than the Phoenix (at a $50 price premium), but still alot of ventilation. Ordered from New Enough. Paul is a really good guy (he recommended the Reactor) and their service is excellent. I also traded in a pair of Vanson pants that were uncomfortable as hell, for a new pair of Vanson Technical Sport pants with spandex in all the right places.![]()
Thanks again!
