This blew my mind. I had to share it. Has anyone ever had experience with something like this?
I've only ever seen YouTube videos...
Cliff's Cycles KTM
NETRA enduro B-vet
Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
I wanna know the price.
I was at Route 3A Motors a few weeks ago and saw this beast (didn't see a price though). Talking to the owner of the place, apparently it can be switched back to wheels very quickly.
Wagner had that setup on either an ape or a husky a couple years ago. looks awesome.
based on the reading I've done, it's farkin cool....but snow friggen eats up power for lunch, so you need a 450/4t or 500/2t for best performance
the track system is friggen expensive separately....but if you really like your dirt bike, and want to switch between the wheels, it's a good option
probably only works well on groomed trails. cant imagine that it has the "float" that real snowmobiles have
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Various versions of these things have been available for several years now, but they are still kind of rare to see. Most dirt bikers that I know just buy sleds or 4wd ATV's for winter use. I believe that they are pretty expensive, but the prices have been coming down a bit. There was a dealer who would show up at NETRA events with a couple of Husaberg's all set up for folks to check out.
No personal experience but a buddy of mine out west has played with them. The track setup usually sells for 4-5k and he claims he's knocked on triple digits' door with his 550. I kinda doubt that triple digit part but hell, even 50 in the snow would be fun as shit. And yeah he tells me the swap back and forth between wheel and track is pretty easy once you've done it a couple times.
