I need this like now! Anyone close have a first gen full assembly willing to part with or loan me for one track day on monday! Theres not enough time to have one overnight...
Any help is appreiated!
Seems the pistons on this one is seazed. Or I suck bleeding brakes..
I narrowed it down to the pistons as I can bleed air from every other bleeder/cable points but the pistons wont budge..

Tech doesn't check the rear brake and most don't even use it.
Mike,
PM me... Fuck it... call me at 508-987-1713
I'm in Oxford, and have an '01 that isn't currently racing. I could loan you the brake caliper assy, but I'll need it back.

I agree that its good to have, but in a pinch I wouldn't sweat it unless it was part of my riding style. And I've never had a track day tech inspecter ever even look at my rear brake let alone test it.
That's a little alarming.

What happens when the front brakes fail?
Mike I have a setup you can borrow if needed. Lmk.
Steve, I would love to take you up on that. I can get it right back to you this week! Just want it for Bomo MOnday! Are you around anytime tomorrow? I will take a ride when ever your available!
Thanks so much.

I bet I get checked tomorrow...
I'm sure you do, but I did a BM day last year and my rear brake wasn't checked. Tony's didn't check this year and neither did Fishy's. Didn't check any of my other buddies either. Maybe because our bikes are either newer or well maintained? I dunno. Not looking to cross any sentiments here, just telling ya how I've seen it. YMMV as they say on tha interwebs.
Just to add a little...
All my bikes have always had their rear brakes checked at tech.
I know a lot of people dont use the rear but there are times its very handy. I can think of a handful of times on the R6 I was very happy to have a working rear brake. I tend to be a shitty starter and one time (at band camp) I was starting on the inside or the second row. Had about 5 or 6 guys coming down on me into 1. Rear was very very useful.
On the motard it just feels like second nature to use it. Maybe its because its a dirt bike and I use a lot of rear brake while riding dirt.
Even if you dont use it on a regular basis, anything can happen out there. Its a nice thing to have when you need it.
We keep tech moving at a pretty good clip. I don't labor over something unless it's in need of attention. If your brake is in good order you might not even notice me hit the lever as I walk around the bike, but it gets checked. It's a routine for those that have done tech a bunch. I run through the same routine every time so I know I don't forget anything.
Anyway... all of that aside, just to make it very clear for those at home... The statement that tech doesn't check the rear brake is 100% false. We ALL check your back brake... and you WILL fail tech if your back brake isn't functional.

My rear came in useful when my front caliper fell off.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
