I just need to vent.
Rode into work today in Cambridge, and was on Mem. Drive looking for the free parking. I got to one of the U-Turns with a light and was sitting at the light waiting to turn left. I saw an Audi with its flashers on sitting at the close end of the cars just past the free parking area, and could see someone in the car, but didn't think anything of it
When my light turned green I had checked for oncoming cars and then started turning, looking where I wanted to go. I wasn't even into the middle of the lane yet (luckily) and the next thing I know I see something in my peripheral to my right. I looked over and it was the dbag driving the Audi... he was looking down at his phone while pulling out into the road, and didn't even notice me even though his front left wheel was less than an inch from my footpeg.
I slammed on my brakes (10-15MPH) and started just screaming at the guy. He looks up at me from his phone for about a second and then looks back down and keeps driving.
Being as caught up as I was, I chased after him and followed beside him, just swearing at him. The ENTIRE time the dumbass was still looking down at his phone. About half a mile down the road he starts talking on it instead. How are people so retarded? You would think if you almost hit someone, you would at least start to pay attention to what you're doing.
P.S. watch out for a green/blue Audi A6 with an asian kid, because he definitely won't even care to look out for you.

You mean to tell us that you pulled a u turn into oncoming traffic and you're mad there was a car there?

Not at all... tough to explain if you're not familiar with Mem. Drive by the Harvard bridge.
Four lane divided road, and then a long section of parking on the side away from the river. I was at a light designed specifically for U-Turns, or pulling into part of the MIT area. My light turned green, I made sure there were no cars pulling out from the MIT direction and no cars coming down the normal road, and then made my legal left turn. The other guy was sitting in the line of parked cars on the side of the road I was pulling on to. When I started turning he still had his flashers on and his foot on the brake, and hadn't moved in the ~3 minutes I was sitting at the light for.
What makes me mad is that the kid didn't care whatsoever that he nearly hit me, and he didn't start paying attention even after it happened.
Lesson learned Never ride down The right lane of memorial. no where near MIT I learned to do do Mad stoppies there.

An Asian leaving MIT and not driving well... fuck, my work here is done.
I had a nice conversation about cars with an Asian gentleman from MIT. Long story short: Is it a manual or automatic transmision? / What's that? Is it under the hood?

if you are not vigilant to look for the unexpected idiots = Never saw it comming. I slid under a truck running a stop sign - the big city is a tough place to ride two wheels. He probably would not have stopped after he hit you. Not a good area. Thank your lucky stars you are just venting about an accident that didn't happen, and your good periphery vision![]()
