Rode it a bunch last weekend, and the thing is just retarded.
Honestly, it was probably the scariest machine I have ridden.
I want one sooooooo bad
anyone else ridden one of these fuckers??
Yeah I checked them out But ended up with the 250F its more then enough power. I thought the 450 was too much in the woods

I just posted one in the forsale section under craigslist finds. 06 YZ450F for 3,000![]()
I attempted to ride it on melting snowmobille trails and up a rocky mountain with runoff flowing down it.
I was okay on the flat sections, a little loose in the rear, but bombing along in third.
it was raining pretty good (this was last saturday)
Then the problems started...
We began to run into areas where the runoff was flowing under the hardened snowmobille trails.
I would be riding along, and suddenly there would be a 10" drop, with 8" ove water flowing through.
Machines with me was a grizzly660 on 26" mud tires, a grizzly 660 on stock tires, and a brute force 750 twin on 27" mud tires.
Lets just say they thought I was crazy... but for some reason i was determined...
ill chock it up to watching too much nitro circus.
SO ANYWAY
driving along... and the front tire drops through the frost up to the axle, and I stop..... QUICK.
We pull the bike out and I continue on...
it does it again!
So now it starts to get steep, so I ramp up the speed a bit....
I am on what looks like flat snow, and I just see the handlebars DROP, midway through second gear
I superman dove off the front and did a flip in the air, last minute I did a tuck so I didnt javelin into the snow with my feet sticking out, and luckly I rolled, but the momentum cause me to tumble a few more times. (I should mention I am 6'5" 250)
STILL DETERMINED, I picked the bike up, and pressed onward. This is the part where we got to the steep ledge with the heavy runoff flowing down it.
A lot of clutch work, and I was making it, the slick rock was scaring the shit out of me though.
I got back to a more snowy section, and once again, the front tire broke though and the bike stopped short. I slid forward and rammed my nuts on the gas tank.
That was it. I took my helmet off and admitted defeat. I had had enough.
We turned around and rode back down (only stuffed it once on the way back)
parked the fucker, and got on the other grizzly :o

I traded a 426 for a 250.. the big bores are just too stupid for woods riding. GREAT in the pits or an open stretch. I was faster on a track on a 250 as well. Too much wheel spin. GREAT Torque Monster! Scary is just one adjective I used to describe it !
Its been a while since I have been on a machine that scared me like that.
I want one soooo bad.....
the owner plans to make it into a supermoto
Only owning an 03, but spending about a G to slow the thing down in the woods...I'd have to agree, that thing was downright violent. The 450x I had in comparison was like getting on a 250f after riding that yz.
Awesome machines though, but a YZ of the earlier vintage has zero place in the woods.![]()
definitely a handful in the woods if you are looking to move along good in tight stuff, I don't think I'd bother taking my crf450 in the woods, even my 2stroke 250 can get hairy/annoying.
