you know that sport looking thing for the plate? is there cheaper place to order than dealer around here? they want $150 for aluminum and more for fiber.
"fuckit!"
I made mine myself for my F3. Saved a bunch of money and still looked good

I thought it was couple of aluminum pieces that you just screw underneath that cost $150.
for $350, I'm still interested.
The feakin RR is really tempting though. It's what $400-$500 more than the regular 03 F4i. The look alone is probably worth it, but the second injectors, new exhaust design, plus few other improvement should cover it.![]()

Get the RR Kham, You know you want it! What the hell it's only a few hundred more!
And it's so cool looking!![]()

If you're looking at undertails, it'd be well worth your time to look into Extreme Graphic's set-up. I have their undertail for my TL-R and couldn't be more pleased. We have a link up in our 'Links' section (off the homepage), and they offer discounts for NESR members!
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I fabbed my own for my SVS. It only took about a day and some patience.
Kham, are you looking for an UNDERTAIL (like I have on my TL-R), or are you looking for a FENDER ELIMINATOR (like the one pictured above)?
The ELIMINATORS are fairly inexpensive and relatively simple to make, while UNDERTAILS get a bit more pricey and would be nearly impossible for the average Joe to fabricate...
By the way SVixxer, that looks damn good for a home made jobber. Damn good...![]()

What materials and tools did you need to do that??Originally posted by SVixxer

That looks great and it beats paying $300 for an undertail.![]()

well I can't fabbed my own either so I need to pay someone. if anyone wants to make me one.
I finally figure out the difference between the two. The eliminator cost about 1/2 of the undertail. It's still a bit pricey for couple pieces of aluminum so I might as well go with undertail which I think looks a lot a lot nicer. I'm in no hurry though as riding season has ended.

The Fender Eliminator cost me about $25.00 including the lights. The aluminum came from and exit sign. I used some thick paper (oaktag) as a template. When I got it rifht on the Oaktag then I transfered it to the aluminum. The only tools needed are a saber saw, a metal file assortment and some hand tools. I ahd to relocate my igniter box to the side of the tail cavity. I have also made my own frame sliders and swingarm stand. And yes the sliders are the same material as store boughts.
I guess I should check my shit spelling before posting.

Okay. The main difference between an undertail and a fender eliminator is that the eliminator usually just gets ridda the part of the fender that extends down past the rear of the rear tire. It'll give you new place to mount your plate, and it'll usually have mounting tabs to bring your directionals in closer. They're usually made of carbon fiber or aluminum...
An undertail usually will replace the ENTIRE inner fender, and usually relocates your tail/brake light. Most undertails have new directionals molded into them which replace the stockers. Most are made of fiberglass or carbon fiber...
The undertail will give the bike that 'sealed' look, and they look awesome! But they are more money and they take much more time to install. Not to mention that you don't hafta do HALF the cutting with an eliminator as you do with an undertail...

so the undertail is pain the @$$ to install? that leaves out the undertail for me then. thanks

I agree. Undertails look great. I am also big on doing things myself if I can. I like to see how much I can fab on my own without the expence of it looking cheesy of course.
Kham, while the undertails take a lot longer, they're not really a pain in the ass. Ya just gotta take your time, and cut LESS than ya think needs to be cut. Ya can always cut more, but ya can't add shit after you've cut it off. So long as your careful, it's not all that bad...
