Old Unused Helmets laying around

So after many years of riding and updating my helmets to keep my Noggin in a current and safe lid, I have started a collection of helmets which I am sure a number of us also have.

So what do you do with them? I have 2 or 3 I am definatly keeping just because I really like the design and will display somewhere.

Do most people throw them out?
Any creative idea's of what you did with your old lids?

I think I might make a couple into lamps. A couple wall mounted ones and one floor stand style! & with my pool table I need a few more to make a 3 lamp billiard table light! Alright I think I have my idea figured out!

I usually give em to new riders.

I've heard after they expire it's best to toss them. Not worth it to have an expired potentially dangerous helmet lying around, unless you're going to display it.

I have donated them to EMS before to use for training.

I just hang em on a wall.. But a Lamp! I might do that with my Rossi Rep.

I've got a bunch on a display shelf, gave a bunch away, and have a bunch in the shed. I'll likely drop the ones in the shed at the dump.

I didn't think they'd stop any, might have to do some "tests" .

I take them to seacoast and get 100$ off a new one during the promotion.

I cut the D-ring off and tossed it in at the transfer station in my town. Of to the incinerator. If I had known that a rescue squad could use it for training, I would have donated it.

My shelves are already full of junk, don't need something like that!
