I have a chance at an '04 Kawasaki 636 w/6,500 miles. (bike is rebuilt, hence the thread title) I do have a local friend who is a motorcycle tech that I could bring with me to check it out. But what is your opinions of a rebuilt bike? Stay away? As long as it checks out fine, get it? What would you pay? It will be used on the street and the occasional track day. Thanks NESRians!
Your Best Bet is to have Peter Kates at GMD check it and see if its straight.

How much do they want for it? What is it's current condition?

FYI I know a guy who bought a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 with low mileage and was dumped. It has a salvage title but he plans on only tracking it.
Cost him 4k. Worth it? hell yes!

Bikes get "totaled" really easy so it all depends on why it was totaled. See if you can get a copy of the insurance report, it'll give you a good idea of how bad it was.

Salvage means that it has been broke in properly.
LOL to all responses
Still waiting on more info. But it sounded like Thurs/Fri I'd get it.
Since I don't know the guy, I don't want to post his number here, but if you are interested I'll give it to anyone who pm's me. He's asking $3,000.
