The locks that open with a BIC pen were recalled
at least the Kryptonite ones were, and replaced with
a different key structure.
but
Basically if someone wants your bike bad enough you
are screwed.
Get lojack and insurance !

The moral of the story is make sure you paid your insurance premiums?![]()

I think it's time to call LoJack.......holy shit
Isn't the whole pen thing ancient history by now?
I figure that a lock is only a derterant for the would be theifs, omiting whimsical theft. If they are specifically targeting and want my shit, they are going to get it.
Same reason I don't lock my house. If the theif wants in, he/she is getting in if the door is locked or not.
Yeah, cutting a chain with a mechanized cutter is
even easier I hear. Depressing.
So much for the $100 I just spent to replaced a cable/lock I used to
have. I left my cable and lock around a tree and some "neighbor"
musta not liked it as after a few days it was gone but the tree
was still there !
Now I have a kryptonite NYC chain but it weighs a friggin ton !
Which sucks given how apparently easy they are to cut.
Hey Jane, where's your house ?![]()

On a related note, does anyone know the percentage of bikes with lojack that are never recovered? I looked online but couldn't find the answer.
