Here's my new 2007 VFR set up for the urban commute.
Functional masterpiece or aesthetic abomination?
You be the judge...
Tech spec snakeskin tank grip set
Garmin Zumo 550 hardwired
Custom rack from VFRDiscusion.com member
Givi universal base plate and Trekker top case.
I took the top case out today and I must say I never noticed it was there on a 50 mile loop of backroads, stop 'n go and slab.
I know it's big, but I like being able to leave my gear with the bike and walk to my office.

I *love* your bike. That color scheme is the best, IMO. As far as you tail-box, I couldn't care less what it looks like, but swinging a leg over that machine may pose some problems (for a guy like me), and carrying a passenger is out of the question.
Function>fashion. I dig it.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
A short while back, I had heard that Honda was blowing these left over VFR's out at low prices. Does anybody know if they are still doing this? If I can find one that color, I may just go get it.
Thats one hot bike! The box in the back is BIG but what the hell if it fits a 30 pack thats cool.
I'm a moto-only commuter and the case is worth it; is it lockable?
If you can, I'd add saddle bags as well since you don't have a usable passenger seat anyways.
leave a rain suit in one of those bags and you can probably add a (sealed off) +12 socket for cell phone charging...a bungee cord for awkwardly shaped items is also handy every now and then.
Ahem....
I own a 1992 VFR750 and I believe it is the best bike ever made. That is all.

P.S. It has a chain.

I have the Givi V46 top box which I keep on the bike at all time for commuting. I agree that having a top box is much more practical and easy with fitting in narrow places. Not to mention, i have the passenger pad on it and my wife is very comfortable on the back. I use it to lock my gear and also for food shopping....I must say I have exceeded the recommended weight, but it is for a short distance...
The recommended weight was undoubtedly specified by Givi's lawyers, not their engineers.
I don't remember what it is, but I remember laughing when I read it.
I have a similar concept on my VTR but the maxia topcase is huge and looks slick too. It kind of reminds me of the chinese delivery guys in my area who have a cooler bolted to their scooter.
I only use the e21 side cases for trips but the maxia is 52 liters and has flashing brakelights on it.
That set up looks nice. I thought abut the Maxia but decided to not even try to match the color.
I could have saved some cash strapping a Coleman cooler to the back though!
That would be excellent.
I could even rig up some netting and troll for squid while I ride.![]()
