I saw a parked Silver/Blk CBR get knocked over by sombody pulling out of an adjecent space yesterday in Harvard Square around 6pm. Anybody know who it was??

I hope you got the plate number for the guy.
Bruce
I woulda ran out there, gotten a plate & left a note on the bike if the guy in the car didn't do it himself.

why do you both assume it was the cage's fault? I'd actually say the bike deserved to get knocked over given the place and manner it was parked...BUT, they worked it out and exchanged papers, etc... I'm just trying to figure out who it was because I thought I recognized the Bike, but when I went to go over I didn't recognize the driver. ???

Why do I assume it was the cage's fault, you ask?
Elementary my dear Watson.... Personally, if something isn't moving & I hit it while I'm in my car pulling out of a parking spot, I'd say it was probably my fault no matter where the hell it was.Originally posted by davew

As much as I support bikers and try to stick up for some of their ill actions, if I were to be blocked in when I legally parked by a biker that was illegally parked... you can bet your ass i'm not gonna sit there and wait for him/her to return and I'll do what it takes to get my vehicle out of my legal parking spaceOriginally posted by OreoGaborio

Granted I would proabbly just push the bike out in the middle of the road (and leave it there) rather than hit it with my vehicle because hitting the bike with my vehicle would damage my vehicle as well![]()

Well if that was the case (blocked in) then the cager was an assole AND an idiota-hole for hitting it on purpose, and now you're idiot for not just rolling it outta the way...
c'mon guys, try harder.. you're still not giving me a decent excuse for hitting a parked motorcycle![]()

ok...hows this. You are stopped in your High-Up Truck in a legal spot and your friend jumps out to run into a store and grab some takeout really fast. Infront of you is another legally parked car and behind you is a "No Stopping" zone for an ambulance entrance to the hospital. You friend come back just a minute later. You look in your rearview and see nothing so you back up out of the space but hear a thump after you move just a foot. You get out to find some dumbass parked a dark colored bike really closely behind you in a blind spot in the dark while you were stopped so he could also run into someplace for just a minute. You couldn't see it when you looked and had no reason to look really hard knowing that it was an emergency vehicle only zone behind you.... I'd pretty much pin that one on the biker...

So the moral here is take out is bad for your health?
that makes you a deaf redneck. Shoulda heard the bike & your truck shouldn't be so jacked up in the air. Your faultOriginally posted by davew

LOL...perhaps ypu are correct sir. But thats why I drive around and PARK in the city with the assumption that everyone around me is a deaf redneck with poor vision and short attention spans...and my bike stays standing. So far....
to top the whole story off, I don't even think the guy in the CRB had his M license, as he refused to show any licesence to the chick that hit him...just the registration. She took his picture though....LOL.

WOA WOA WOA.... wait a second.....
you said it was a chick that hit him?..... was she hot? cuz if she was hot it was DEFINITELY his fault, I'm totally with you![]()

If I'm ever riding in Boston, before I park, I try to assess possible ways for my bike to get bumped, tipped, towed, or stolen.Originally posted by davew

In most rural-suburban areas, it's obviously not a concern. But in major cities, you have to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best when it comes to parking.
