Anyone know if Erik Buell has any involvement in these new bikes or was phased out by HD?
Your park avenue leads to..
HD dropped Buell forever ago (2009). He did his best to keep things rolling on his own but i'm sure he needed some big funding.
Last I heard was "In 2021, LAP bought the Buell brand back from Harley-Davidson and announced plans to revive the 1190 platform along with nine other new models by 2024. Erik Buell was no longer involved."
Instead, Eric Buell is doing this

A 450lb, 175HP cruiser? Dayumn, I'd like to know the price tag on that!

"As a final puzzle piece, the company acquired the rights to the Buell brand in 2020. As of February, 2021, we have the formal announcement that Buell Motorcycles will shortly be rolling out a wide range of bikes aimed at a broad spectrum of riders. To be totally clear, Erik Buell has zero to do with the company that now bears his name."

I guess it seems weird to buy a brand that never had great success and not have the guy it's named after involved. Why not make a new brand?
I wish he got the fair shake I think he deserved.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
I don't mind the cruiser thing, especially with something like that. But I went through the whole preorder thing. WTF? Still no pricing.
While selling out to Harley originally helped him with the finances & material/parts he needed, they really handcuffed him for most of the run. By the time they were giving him engines he could actually get something from it was too late. He deserved so much better than that, but I totally understand why he teamed up with Harley originally. I was hoping for bigger things.
Unfortunately at the time, Harley was still all about Harley, and even with Buell they were still all about "the brand". I feel if this merger happened today, we'd see incredible things from Buell given Harley's recent push to extend to new genres, etc.
