My first KTM
The bike is on it's way, i'll have it in less than a week I also ordered all the lights, signals, mirrors, stator, etc, etc to make it street legal as i plan on registering it and doing some street and dual sport riding with it
The specs in the link above accurate except the bike has a 4sp transmission and not a 6spd Not a problem though, i also ordered both 5th and 6th gears for it
This is my first ever non Yamaha bike
I did have a Honda quad once (400ex) but the power output was so boring, i had to sell it

Actually i've been looking and thinking about getting one for a while now so the decision has taken a while. If i had acted when i first thought about it, it'd be the 525 SMC though
0% intrest for one year is what the deciding factor was.. haha I hate paying intrest

I'm really curious how it compares to the YZ. I got to try a 400EXC in the woods when they first came out, nice smooth power,didn't seem to have the top end hit of the Yamaha though.I think the SMC has different cam, carb and ignition than the EXC.You gonna keep the blue one for a racebike?

I read an article in one of the dirt rags a few months ago comparing the engines and power output. If i remember rite, the YZ did make more power total but the KTM made more power higher up the RPMs if that makes any sence? We'll see i guess. The SMC i'm getting has the exact same specs as the 450SX motocrosser.

Yes, i'm keeping the YZ for my racebike
