I think what you're seeing that makes it look altered is the compression from heavy lossy compression used with his "low resolution proofs" (while not said, it is certainly obvious to me they are compressed as well as low-res). Thats a major reason why the depth is lost and he looks like someone stamped him there.

If you look carefully, it seems like the corvette drivers expression doesn't change at all.

I think it's the angle. The photographer is off-angle until about then. Once he's nearly down the axis of the motorcycle he gets the reflector full on. Before that it is just peripheral off the lens. I think the brakes were on well before that. Probably at or about shot 11 as Evadd pointed out.
Meh. Look at me being an arm chair traffic cop.
Though I agree with you fully on this I'm not so sure the people that are making a couple of extra bucks shooting photos on the side of US129 treat this as a profession. I may be 100% off base on this but I think it started with Killboy and a small website and then a few others figured they would get in on the game as well. Hopefully they are "protected" from this type of thing.
Regardless of my random comments on this the end result is that it sucks for all involved. Hopefully the rider is relatively ok and all of them get taken care of in some way so they are not finacially damaged too badly by this accident.

Wow that was nuts!! I'd be pissed if I was in the vette!

To help clarify this.. it was on the gap. mm 4.2, and the rider left in an ambulance, though it didn't appear his injuries were serious. The wreck left a huge mess on the road with Oil, Fork oil, and antifreeze.
About an hour after this, a local rider got caught in it and went off the mountain into a tree hard.. He's in ICU and will be for some time.
So here's a reason not to lose track of where you are and what you're doing: This guy lost awareness of his surroundings, didn't know the capabilities of his bike, didn't look where he needed to go and recover (even with the Vette giving him extra room), and target fixated on the Vette, and was lucky he just totaled the bike, did heavy damage to the Vette, and left conscious and alive..
On the other hand, the aftermath of his mistakes contributed to nearly killing another rider, and certainly impacted his quality of life and his family for a long time to come.
Sorry if I sound a little bitter, but it is what it is.. if mister over his head hadn't been, I wouldn't be looking for reports to see if Jeff will even know his name again. It wasn't all his fault, bhut had he not made this error, the problem wouldn't have been there for the other rider.
Well that sucks
Yeah, it really does. I hope the 2nd rider pulls through ok.
I am glad we are not this snooty... Although I think Kenn would have fun with it....I posted the pics on the Corvette forum. Someone said the Corvette driver is a member.
But since that car was a 5th generation, he posts in a different section as I do.
He apparently mentioned that the bike rider faired well. An arm injury is the worst he got.
Lucky.
...He doesn't have as many Triumphs as I do so he posts with the normies...
I dont love Vettes, Triumphs or fucktards who cant turn a motorcycle...so meh on these photos...
Looks like he's riding an invisible airbike in pic 19

There's something slightly interesting about that poster (the son) having the account name Soon2bfast, and that being his first and only (so far) post.

Yea, I was skeptical as well, but then I saw one of the other guys post
Which matched "well enough" for me to presume truth (it doesn't prove it, it just makes it believable enough for me).A messege from his wife, Mel
Jeff is now stable but still in critical condition. Injuries he has sustained include fractured skull at frontal lobe and orbital area, missing four front teeth with torn lip, facial reconstruction in the future, broken C1,C2,T3,L2,L3 and L4, broken ribs on both sides and collapsed lungs with lacerations to liver and kidney. Thank you for all your love, prayers, and support.
It seems the injured riders username is "usedtobefast", so the son's would make sense.
