I don't know if you noticed or not but when Kurt and I left you Sunday my bike was bucking like a pissed off bull. The whole ride home it was backfiring, kicking and coughing. Got home took the fairing off and looked at the battery: the left side contact point on the battery had almost completley melted. My negative wire was getting intermittent contact with battery. Just before Kurt and I got to seekonk the electrical went dead, we pulled over and noticed the contact point just slightly melted and we ended up tightening the nut attached. Didn't think the thing was going to melt all the way in such a short distance! Called the dealer ( I bought it in New Hampshire) he's driving down here Saturday to pick it up and fix it. Should I ask him to throw in a set of "Termi's" for my troubles and almost getting clipped at the stop light pushing the bike to the side of the road???
That's what you get for owning a Duc. I heard, if you own a Duc you spend more time fixing/ servicing it than riding. Is that true?![]()

I'm sure the dealer will gladly throw in a 3500 dollar set of pipes for you. Why not?

that bike it totally worthless, you better give it to me.
Seriously though is this your first issue or did you have stalling/restarting problems as well?

James is correct. I've had the stalling issues since the first week of ownership. It'll all be fixed this weekend. The Ducati techs have to do a few things: Make sure the battery is putting out the correct voltage and wattage.Re-set the TPS,Balance the cylinders to within .3% of each other, and Adjust the CO level in both cylinders to around 4.5%.That's what's causing the stalling;poor setup of the bike to meet emissions standards, bad cam timing setup, bad ECU. I've just put up with it , until now. Still love the bike regardless of the stall issues. Get it above 4k rpm and on a halfway decent road and it's complete heaven!!! It seems to want to lean over until the bar-ends are hitting pavement....it feels that good in corners, then again I'm coming off of a 2003 r-1 and an FZR1000 before that just in the recent past.
Have you had it back to the dealer to try and solve the stalling, or is this your first stab at it?

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Mark, you think you have problems now, if Ducati decides to merge w/ HD, you'll also have to put up w/ oil leakage in the future:

My first stab at getting it fixed.
I also saw that Harley/Ducati merger article. It was floating around on the Ducati message forum. Business wise it's a smart move but I think Ducati (the brand) would go to shit afterwards. Ducati brand is something that's supossed to be special now because they're different and not everyone has one. I think Harley has gone the way of Rice-rockets (sportbikes) back in the 90's. Everyone had a sportbike back then and they were everywhere. Now everytime , for me, I pass another motorcycle it seems to be a harley. They're a dime a dozen now. My brother, uncles, cousins and a shitload of friends either have them or want them. Personally I hate Harleys, think their smelly and too loud and annoying as hell. Everyone driving one wants you to look at them. I think most people who ride them suck(from my experience.....hell, my mothers husband drives one, my uncle, 2 cousins drive em and my brother is getting one), to me it seems harley riders think they're something special and thumb their nose at us sportbike riders. Someone should tell them Harleys just aren't that special anymore......
By the way James:
When do you want to ride my Duke? When hell freezes over or when pigs start flying? Get back to me and let me know.............![]()
It's funny everything you've said about harley riders is how most people would catagorize people that ride ducatis. Or at least I would catagorize most people that ride ducatis.

Well I can't speak for your experience with Ducati riders but personally I've never ridden with any and I've probably only seen maybe a couple handfulls of Ducati's on the road passing me in 17 years of riding( not including bike shows, bike get togethers etc). They always waved at me, unlike Harley riders...even the 50-60 something Harley riders don't give you the time of day.You can also ask those that have ridden with me if I'm a nose thumber..............although I am a cocky son-of -the-bitch, but the Ducati has nothing to do with that...........probably the Marine Corps.
