I need some new gloves and would like to spend under $100 if possible. I've heard that Held is a good brand? They make the Ninja Race glove which is in my price range. What are some others that people like? Any to stay away from?
I'll be using them for street riding and occasional track days if that helps. Thanks.
Im using a pair of Held galaxys right now. THey are great gloves and Im very happy with them. They are a bit more then that 100 dollar prince youre looking for but you might be able to find them for 150 if you shop around since they have been replaced with the phantom model.
If you really want the cheep way out I can give you my old pair. Im not exactly sure what brand but I will get some photos of them for you.
I'll sell you my Held Kryptons for $100.
They are a tad too small for me. Paid over $150 and they are like new... just don't fit.
They are all black and size is Med/Large
Let me know by email if interested.

on the glove subject, i got a pair of sp2 alpinestars that got about 15k miles on them and when i got home from the cold weather ride a week ago (from putting my hand on my crankcase every 2 min.) got a 1/2 tear on the palm in between the thumb and index. does any one think i should a.toss em b.try to get em repaired or c.just use em?

James, I appreciate the offer but I think you are right. If I am going to be doing track days I need a top notch glove.
Well then check this out. Good guy to deal with and a hard price to beat.Originally posted by Punjistick

Well there is a sizing chart somewhere for those. Just measure your hand with a tape measure. You can probably do it and then call Brian and he can tell you a size. He is pretty good at that.Originally posted by fasterthanu

I do have a sizing chart for held but we would have to meet somewhere to use it. I guess you could also try on my gloves. Its something we could do at the next seminar with Pete as well.
basically you want to stretch your hand out as wide as possible and measure with a string or something around the circumference of your hand at the widest part. I came up with 8" so that translates to a Held size 8 or a Medium. 9" is a size 9 which they call large. There is also 8.5 which is Medium+. Their sizes go up by 0.5 so 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, etc.
How long are the cuffs on the Held gloves? I need cuffs that are long enough to compensate for sleeves that are always too short for my orangutan arms.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
The cuffs are pretty long on the held galaxys. They come about 1/2 way up my forearm. 5inches at the short point on the inside of the arm and 6 inches at the long point on the outside of the arm.Originally posted by wylee

I just got a pair of Black Teknic Speedstar(see pic) gloves and they feel great. They retail for $180 but I got them for $125 shipped from a guy on Ebay. I'm a size 9 in Helds and the L Speedstars fit perfect. The Helds I have are Phantoms are they are built and use materials like no other gloves I've seen. They fit great off the bike but don't fell right to me on the bike so I'm selling them. Get gloves that feel good and will protect your hands. You can't put a price on your hands.
