Thinking of having my race bike frame / subframe / swingarm powdercoated. What do most people do about the hardware? PC that too? I'm gonna go GOOOLLLLLLDDDDDD frame, and the hardware is stock silver. Would look kind of stupid I think, but does PC hold up to wrenching, or will it just look like shit after one round of maintenance.
PC won't work on bolts/etc.
Can't get it on the threads, would change dimentions of the tools used and wouldn't stand up to the wrenching.
Though I suppose if you protected all the contact surfaces you could do it, but it'd take forever.

Do they normally plug threaded holes? Or chase them with a tap set afterwards?
A good PC job is all about the prep. That includes masking off mating surfaces, plugging threaded holes, etc.
Richie, pick a color and then find some place that can plate your hardware.
Powder coating works terrible for fasteners.
Try http://www.pro-bolt.com. They have stuff that comes in different finishes.
