no, it's the right way because it's the right way.....
street signs are used incorrectly all the time...the only time a yield sign should be at the end of an on ramp is when there is no break down lane
edit - on a side note...i find it humorous how much my posts get under your skin
You've got the right way, and you've got the right of way. Just because it's the right way, doesn't mean you've got the right of way. Conversely, just because you've got the right of way doesn't mean it's the right way.
Meh!
if you rear end someone while they merge both you could be at fault i believe. hit on the side if you're gonna do it.
"fuckit!"
This is why I won't ride in massachusetts. You get into these scenarios where people are doing 75 mph down the highway three feet from each others' bumper so that nobody "steals their position or whatever", meanwhile you've got people trying to merge onto the highway from hail mary onramps and speed up to 75 mph in a span of fifty feet to merge properly while other people are trying to get over to the off ramps and slow down all within the same 50 feet.
Then you've got the toolbags like 04ZRX who try to run you off the road for merging, ok I've got traffic flowing at 75 I have to accelerate to merge with them, here let me stop dead at the mouth of the onramp and cause a five car pileup so you don't have to be so inconvenienced as to slow down 3 mph so that I can get on the highway and we can all sit in traffic together.
A little fucking courtesy goes a long way towards accident reduction, remember that next time you're running someone off the road or brake checking them on an off ramp, this is the kind of scenario that left JimF in a hospital
Fucking, Amen!
How about the douchebags who zip around, changing lanes every 1.2 seconds trying to "get ahead" while the fast lane is just cruising along at a good clip. Sure, they get ahead for a bit, but eventually the fast lane reels them in and then they kamakazi back into the fast lane almost taking people out...only to do it all over again in a mile or so. Cut the shit!

It's the right way because you say so. Oh, I see, now the traffic signs that are placed there intentionally to dictate traffic law shouldn't be there, and therefore we should ignore the ones that you say are mistakenly placed there? Or is it the traffic law that should be changed to match what you think should happen? According to you a yield sign means everyone else should be yielding to the person that has the sign. I'm going to buy you a sharpie so that you can stencil that in.
The law says come to a full stop, you say never come to a full stop.
The law says operating in the breakdown lane is a violation, you say people should be operating in the breakdown lane.
According to you, people should not obey the law, they should act as you feel they should act. Should I expect anything less of NESR than dictating the way everything should be and how everyone should conduct their life? Don't forget to insult them while you explain how you say it should be. Nope, you covered that base too.![]()
ok im going to pound sand.
"fuckit!"
that was for hesso, not you...for some reason he likes to follow me around and pick fightshe hardly posts here...and this is what he decides to chime in on...
sv ranted in the same way i did...i guess it's ok to post like i do only if you agree with hessogood
i think maybe he's got a man crush..you want to hold close a little longer with BigRed, Jay?
i know i know. just kidding couldn't find the right smile for it.
"fuckit!"
Clearly I quoted the drivers education handbook, but I'm wrong cause you have insults on the side of your opinions. I must be stating the facts to blur the truth, because I obviously came here hoping to get flamed by you. Next time you get a ticket for not Yielding or operating in the breakdown lane you can just explain to them that those signs are misplaced, and the way it works is how you say.
ya, for the definition of the yeild sign...congrats on your reading comprehension skills...too bad the common sense skills fell off somewhere along the line...
yield signs are not posted on every on ramp....it is a different situation then a yield sign at an intersection of 2 regular streets...so you must use common sense when entering the highway..common sense tells me not to enter 65-80 mph traffic at 0...apparently it tells you thats ok...different strokes i guess...
there are some traffic signs that are mis-used..the yield sign being one of them...
No Passing Zone is another...you see that sign a lot in areas where one side is allowed to pass..the correct sign in that situation is DO NOT PASS...
driving is not a black and white situation. yes there are laws, but the laws should be used in conjunction with COMMON SENSE. seems like big reds explanation is a pretty good combination of both.
Tuono
anyone...ANYONE who comes to a stop on an onramp because there is a yeild sign should have their tires slashed and license taken away.
Ofcourse, this is assuming highway traffic is at normal speeds and not stopped dead because two douchebags ran into each other and caused the 100th accident of the day.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
