I didn't quote the next part of the law, but your supose to use the "A" scale on the DB meter, fwiw, it's the setting with the quickest responce and gives the highest reading

I had a hollow V&H on my SV as well, it was much quieter right after I first bought it, but after 80,000 or 90,000 miles or so, without repacking it got rather loud especialy after the baffles completely disintigrated and blew out the end

that 2800rpm engine speed really gives twin sportbikes a big advantage in meeting the requirements

This meter can be used in A or C along with either fast or slow. I should have Friday off from work so I should be able to get a better reading during the day when people are less likely to bitch about loud noises.

Alright... I gave you almost two pages, but I can hold my tongue no longer. You knew this was coming.

No you did NOT start a thread about how awesomely cool your base model Ducati is, based on the fact that it's really loud? Did you?

And then round two is a whopping 91hp dyno sheet to back it up? Just in case anyone might have missed the original attempt at pointing out the awesomeness? Really?

You need to come to grips with the fact that you have a striped down, under powered, base model, coyote hunting, Ducati, wanna-be super bike, where the best thing on it is a disgraceful "shocker" decal. Oh yea, and it's painted the wrong color too!

...and your 749 makes me moist.

Happy New Year Blake! I love you man!

...and THIS concludes the airing of grievances. We can NOW move on to the feats of strength...

No person shall operate a motorcycle which has a measured noise level of more than 106 decibels on the decibel meter when measured 20 inches from the exhaust pipe at a 45 degree angle while the engine is operating at 2,800 revolutions per minute for one and 2 cylinder motorcycles and 3,500 revolutions per minute for any motorcycle with 3 or more cylinders.
Ya cant spin a big twin 5200 limiter.

I looked it up and cited the law here:
    http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...tml#post639778

Definitions are posted above it, and the following post by me attempts to use the math to translate it into useful measurements.

When I first read your post, I assumed you were inside the garage. Measuring outside the garage is better, but you will not have a reasonable measurement until you have eliminated reflective surfaces. A building 20 feet away is reflective. Try to measure in a wide open outside area.

sound meters are very directional where they pick the sound up from, at least mine is, think of a sophisitcated listening device that you can pick one voice out of a crowd of talking people

No, I started a thread about how loud it is because every person that has seen it has said something about how obnoxiously loud it is. It's OK Noel, after I scotch guard it I might let you see it

    Can't you read? It's 91.67
I was actually surprised it was that high if that tells you anything.

    1. It only hunted down one coyote
    2. It says superbike on the tail so it must be one
    3. Some ass fuck stole that sticker a couple weeks after I put it on
    4. I'm stripping it down for paint and powder coat this weekend

You give me shit about a base 748 that most people love the look of but you want to dry hump my base 749 that most people hate the look of? You're a strange guy. Did licking that tainted tank mess with your head?

I'm stronger than you because I'm a man. The same kind of man that invented the wheel and never licked a gas tank that had ball residue on it
