    Why...

Are you sure?? then why the 1000 instead of 996? 1000=litre right???
    **reworded for clarity**

1000 of what unit equal a liter? 1000 quarts?

A liter is a measurement of volume. How many cm's (centimeters) must be on each side of a cube to equal 1 liter?

What does mL and cc stand for?

    mL = cc = cm^2 Correct? Explain?

My motorcycle has an 1164cc engine. A 5.0 Liter Mustang is ~302 cubic inches. How big is my engine in cubic inches?

The 5.0L Mustang owner states that his stock engine has about 225hp (according to Ford) and a Hayabusa only has ~155hp. What is misleading about his horsepower comparison?

I have a 4-cylinder engine, a 4.6-Liter Mustang GT has an 8-cylinder. The 4.6L Mustang owner brags that a single cylinder in his engine is about 4 times (4x) the volume of a cylinder in my motorcycle engine! Is this correct?

How many times larger (volume) would a single 4.6L Mustang GT cylinder be?

Answers to follow. How many of you racing or car buffs can answer these questions!!??

    Approx a 71ci

Sounds like a trick question to me, but Maybe busa's hp is at the wheel.

Actually they are about the same, about 7 MM larger in Mustang.
How many times larger would a single 4.6L Mustang GT cylinder be?
    See above about 7mm.

    Why...

    Are you tempting me???
    Is this a test?
I'm pretty stoopid, so lemme cee if I cun figger dis owt.

Hmmm let's see....cubic inches versus cubic centermeters...

Something to do with multiplying one by 16.38 to achieve another.... or is it .061???... Geeez you got me all confused now...

Maybe it has to do with PI x radius squared times the stroke, and then multiply the number of cylinders?

Now let's see if the bore is bigger than the stroke, it's oversquare?

Oh I get it .....it's 14.7 parts of air to one part fuel????

Damn! I thought that 103 degree cam lobe centers would work, but found that 105 worked better....and the piston velocity at 4750 feet per minute is still safe for street use.... Titanium valves are better!

On the other hand my 302 mustang had a 4.00" bore by a 3.00 stroke....Do I have to convert this to millimeters?

So the radius is 2.00" times itself, times pi 3.1416, times the stroke of 3.00" which gives us 37.699 cubic inches per cylinder. Then 37.699 times the # of cylinders...(8) gives us a total of 301.593 cubic inches....this means that Ford lied to us...
They should have called it a 301 and a little over a half!

BUT! if you look at it in cc's it converts to 4940 cc's which seems like we got ripped off even more! it's a 4.940 liter!

Have I rambled on enough? or should I keep going?

Oh BTW your 1164cc engine is 71. 004 cubic inches...

Another thing.. HP = torque x rpms/5252...so the busa's engine make more horsepower because it turns higher RPMs than your mustang...

Damn..you guys aren't only witty but you are also SMRT as well...

Who can name that tv show?

Here is a question...since most of the bikes we ride are non-american...and use the metric system..what do HD's use?

Why the hell can't we use the metric system... .it would be so cool to look at the speedomitor and see 140 instead of 60...I know that conversion isn't accurate..but play along with me

So anyone in the north country of NH need a roomate....need to move out of my current living situation.....

    Correct!

    10cm * 10cm * 10cm = 1000cc = 1000ml = 1000cm^3 = 1L

    Correct!

225hp crank =~ 190hp at rear wheels (assuming 15% loss)

I should of taken more time to properly word the questions

    As a whole, the 4.6L has 4x the displacement of my 1.16L engine. (4.6 / 1.16 = 4)

However, each cylinder in the V-8 is ~575cc (0.575L) while each cylinder in my motorcyles is ~290cc (.290L). So, a Mustang GT cylinder has about 2x the volume of a ZRX1200 cylinder.

Your questions were pretty good... too bad you had to reword them...
Now answer me this....How much air will flow in an engine that displaces 2000cc's and is turbocharged to 2 atmospheres. Max RPM's are 9000.
Now once you got that, Find how many pounds of fuel per minute would be required to maintain a 6 to1 airfuel ratio at the same RPM.

Degsy wants a 2 liter turbocharged Methanol burnin' racebike!

Is there sufficient information to answer those questions?

These are mechanical engineering questions, A class similar to fluid dynamics would be sufficient, but I never had ME classes
