The end of the season at least the sales season is going to be here in a few months and I am debating trying to find a deal on a ninja 1k or zx14. I took one of my buddies' blackbird for a spin a couple weeks ago and got bit pretty hard by the comfortable more tourquey Sportbike bug. I may just try to make my 09 zx6 more comfy but the endgame at some point is to move to one of those two bikes, a blackbird if I can find a decent one, or something similar.
My problem is I have never ridden either a ninja 1k, zx12, or zx14 so I'm not sure if I will even like the way they move handle etc. Is there anyone around her that is willing to let me take a scoot on their bike? Even if it is just around a parking lot I just want to get some idea how they move.

"You don’t need to tell me the horror story about your uncle’s buddy who wiped out his chopper while drag racing at some hooligan rally. That just makes me wish I were talking to your uncle’s buddy instead of you. He sounds pretty cool."

Ninja 1K about as comfortable as your 6 or do you mean the sit up right ninja 1K? Many people set up 'busa's and 14's to tour.
I just actually upgraded from an 09 Zx-6r to a 14 ninja 1000 and wouldn't look back. Dont get me wrong i loved my zx6 but the ergo's are only friendly for so long. I got a good deal on a left-over fully loaded ninja 1000 with hard bags.
Pro's
-Good price compared to competition
-Mid Range torque is amazing
-Ergo's are pretty comfy
-LOVE the hard bags
Con's
-Is a good bit heavier then a 600 but you get used to it
-Stock seat sucked
-stock windshield also left a lot to be desired
If you're ever around central mass let me know i'd let you spin it around the block

Edited to include zx12 as a contender.

If you ride a ZX-12, it will change everything. Seriously. Drop the forks 12mm and you'll understand.
