i saw this bike at a local shop the other day. when i saw what was left of it, i was terrified to ask what happened to the rider. the front rim was broken in half. both bars were broken off. one had punctured the gas tank. the forks looked like spaghetti. i was told that the rider had t-boned a car that ran a red light. the m/c rider went through the windsheild head first and ended up in the passenger seat of the car. lucky for him, he was more or less fine. this was all due to the fact that he was wearing gear. helemt, beefy jacket, gloves, pants, and boots. it was said by EMT's that he would have been cut to ribbons and bleed to death if he hadn't worn gear.

just a reminder, dress for the crash, not the ride.

that would make them think twice about blow signs / lights....some dude dressed like a power rander comes flying through your widnsheild, and then goes for your throught as soon as he is in the car...sounds like a scene from The Matrix.

I saw some nasty picks from an accident two months ago from Florida. Two squids were doing close to trips down a local street and a pick up truck pulled out. Neither were wearing helmets.
It actually wouldn't have mattered. I know one of the guys was CUT in half by the windshield as he went through it... Helmet wouldn't have helped much there... Leathers might have. The posted pictures didn't have the bodies, but had a link to the newspaper detail. The pictures were grewsome with blood still on the pavement and two twisted and melted bikes.

Definitely nothing left for a salvage title on those.

Yeah, definitely survival of the fittest. Definitely the shame about all that twisted metal and plastic. The bike deserved better.
